Worst Mulch

This is the worst mulch I’ve ever bought. I’ve seen white mold in the bagged mulch. But these bags had black furry mold in every bag. Made the mulch look brown and black in spots. The red was very faded. Out of 30 bags, I had about 3 actual red ones. There were nails/plastic pieces. One bag had 9 nails in it. One of them sticking out of a piece of mulch. We have small children and a dog. If one of them stepped on a rusty nail, it would definitely be a trip to the hospital.

This was perhaps the single worst product I have ever purchased. Smelled like it was made from burnt wood, and within 48 hours the off-gas fried about 1’ to 2’ of the surrounding grass. Had to gather up all 40 bags worth myself and then hire a landscaper. At least Home Depot came to pick it up and eventually gave me a credit. Complete nightmare and never again.

lazy employees

Employees, lazy while I sit in the parking lot in the car in the hot looking at the mulch had to go inside the store to get someone to do their job. Stating customer pick up at number one for 45 minutes after I ordered from off-line.

Not so good

Lots of branches, bark and mold. I guess it really depends on who they have making it during any particular year. This batch is rough. Doubt you'll be happy.

Bags weren't damaged, easy to lift and place where needed. Black color multch was easy to spread and looks great. This product has exceeded my expectations.

After purchasing 125+ bags of Vigoro mulch, I was very disappointed to find large rocks in the bags. The size and the weight of the rocks obviously impacted the measurement and weight of the purchased product! Very disappointed in Vigoro!

Called early AM to request a ca and i was told i would get one. I was only wanting it dropped at top of driveway very simple. No phone call and put me in awkward situstion with my HOA.can you say “Just good enough?”

Of the 20 bags ordered inly SIX were actually Red Mulch even though all 20 said Red on the outside. The remainder were all BROWN!!!

For "premium" mulch, I was surprised by the majority of large pieces and even branches the size of a cell phone that were in every bag. I'm not sure what is premium about the mulch except for the dark color. I've gotten free mulch from the community yard waste that was ground better than this.

I bought a total of 34 + 9 bags of this for myself and friends.

This is a good looking dark stained mulch I got for my front yard garden. It’s just an ornamental flower border, nothing edible is in there so im not too concerned about the wood being recycled building material. I did see a bit of trash in my bag but not a huge deal but I would love to see the price go down a bit. I buy a ton of mulch. It’s helped my garden. It does break down and feed your soil.

Delivery was good, put them exactly where asked. Out of 80 bags, 5 had mold and about 1/3 had large sticks. The color is very dark brown which worked out for me, but is darker than expected.

Very poor color uniformity.

I’m purchasing close to 50 bags of this product to finish out my front beds. All the bags were labeled black but as you can tell, there’s no quality control.I will go with the namebrand next time.

Debris in product

Giving this product a solid 3 for all the debris I found in bags. Huge chunks of wood, metal and paper. See image Much prefer Scott’s bark product even if I have to pay a bit more.

You get what you pay for

Worst mulch I have ever bought. Should not even be classified as mulch. It should be classified as large wood pieces. Unfortunately the 12 bags I bought weren’t enough. I wasn’t about to put them all back in my SUV and return them. So to finish the job to look consistent I need to buy more of this awful product. UGH!!!

Be sure and check the color consistency of this product. I bought 20 bags and 6 were a darker brown then the rest.

NOT MULCH…dyed wood chips

This product is awful, this is bagged wood chipper chips that are dyed back. Not ground mulch. It looks terrible
