While the most recent recruiting weekend looks like it was a resounding success, prospects from previous recruiting weekends with the Oklahoma Sooners have taken time to digest their time in Norman. For some, the time spent analyzing where the Sooners fall in their recruitment has led some of college football’s biggest recruiting insiders to believe there’s significant momentum for Oklahoma in regards to some of these prospects.

The momentum is so real that recruiting analyst Parker Thune of OUInsider at 247Sports was confident enough to issue Crystal Ball predictions for several Oklahoma Sooners’ targets. We’ve taken the liberty of chronicling those below for your viewing pleasure:

Tre Wisner, RB

Tre Wisner is a 2023 running back from Waco, Texas, and has maintained a close relationship with running backs coach DeMarco Murray since his recruitment has hit its stride. He’s been very open about his respect for Murray and the Sooners have hosted Wisner a few times. Once during the Lincoln Riley days and he’s been back in Norman since Brent Venables has taken over.

Parker Thune issued a new Crystal Ball prediction for the Oklahoma Sooners to land the four-star running back prospect out of Texas.

Samuel Omosigho, LB

A March 5 Junior Day visitor, three-star Samuel Omosigho is a future linebacker or box safety hence his recruitment. The push for Omosigho is being led by safeties coach Brandon Hall and Ted Roof who doubles as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.

Omosigho isn’t as highly rated as others on the Sooners’ radar but he’s immensely talented and is a star in track & field too. His athleticism raises his ceiling and is why the Sooners want him. Their goal is to get him on campus to mold him into the defensive player they want.

Parker Thune is fairly confident the Sooners will land Omosigho. This may become a Bedlam matchup down the stretch as Mike Gundy and his Oklahoma State Cowboys are also in this race as well.

T.A. Cunningham, DL

T.A. Cunningham is one of the country’s biggest and most imposing 2024 defenders. He stands 6-foot-6 and is just under 270 pounds. He’s from Alpharetta, Georgia, and represents yet another elite defensive talent from the Southeast the Sooners are trying to make a splash with. Cunningham visited most recently this past weekend and spent time with other elite 2024 recruits.

Thune is hedging with his Crystal Ball prediction here, but there’s a long way to go in the 2024 cycle. The Sooners have significant competition from the likes of Georgia, Auburn, Texas A&M and others trying to land the No. 1 player in Georgia for 2024.

Stacy Gage, RB

While the Sooners look to have zeroed in on at least one running back in the 2023 class in Tre Wisner, look no further as one of the Sooners’ targets at RB for the 2024 class has begun to emerge. Stacy Gage currently sits as the No. 2 running back in the nation for 2024 and this weekend’s visit to Norman must have struck all the right chords. Thune gave the Sooners a new Crystal Ball for the IMG Academy prospect.

His recruitment is far from over but that level of confidence following a visit is worth noting. DeMarco Murray has yet to sign a five-star at running back but landing gage would be a huge feather in the cap for the Sooners legend.

Adepoju Adebawore, EDGE

Adepoju Adebawore is another highly-coveted edge rusher that the Oklahoma Sooners are working to land. Adebawore hails from Kansas City which is also four-star offensive tackle Cayden Greenis from. If you land one, it can help you land the other and vice versa.

First year defensive ends coach Miguel Chavis is at the forefront of this recruitment and from the outside looking in, he’s doing a great job situating Oklahoma to have a shot at a commitment.
