How to answer LSA interview questions? ›

Talk about the responsibilities and day to day tasks you took on in your past employment. You could mention preparing learning materials, creating a stimulating environment, adapting support according to needs or looking after children's physical, social and emotional welfare. How would you communicate with parents?

Example Answer: "I want to be a Teaching Assistant because I have a profound passion for education and want to positively impact students' lives. I'm inspired by the role of a Teaching Assistant in creating an inclusive environment, and I believe every student deserves equal opportunities and access to education."

Remember to draw upon your own experience in school as well as any formal education you've received to answer questions. Remember, it's important to sound genuine during the actual interview. While practicing your answer will help you to appear confident on the day, it is just as important not to sound robotic.

To answer, follow the formula below:1. Share one or two positive qualities and personal attributes: "I've always been a natural leader and worked well in a fast-paced environment...”2. Back them up with examples: "...I've exceeded my KPIs every quarter and have been promoted twice in the past five years.

Sample Answer: I have been told that I am too hard on myself. I tend to be very critical of my work and my performance. I am working on being more positive and learning to accept constructive criticism.

The role of a teaching assistant is incredibly rewarding as you'll get to spend one-on-one time with students, helping them to reach their goals and being there for them every step of the way. You'll share in the joy and satisfaction of their accomplishments, making every effort worthwhile.

The role of a TA/LSA is to support both teaching and learning. Show your passion and dedication. There are many great reasons you could discuss, such as the satisfaction of helping students overcome learning difficulties, that no two days are the same or that it is an incredibly rewarding job.
