Digital Check In App

Digital check in app allows your parents, staff and visitors to digitally check in / out at the nursery with just a PIN number.

Help keep all your timesheets in order and know exactly when parents, staff and visitors have walked into the building.
This also tracks when your staff started and ended their shift.

Automate Your Funding Shortfall

Statement to Parents

The funding received from the local authority does not cover the full cost of your child’s care and to remain sustainable we therefore charge for meals, snacks, consumables, extra hours and additional services as required.

Example

Let’s say you are receiving £4.50 per hour from your LA for a 3 year old place and you charge £60 for a 10 hour day. For a 10 hour funded session, you would be out of pocket by £15.

No More Funding Shortfalls

Auto funding shortfall gives you the power to automate this as a consumables and additional service charge with a click of a button.

Attendance Dashboard – Quick Preview

When you open Nursery In a Box, you are presented with the attendance dashboard which give you a quick overview of the children in the morning or afternoon and the times they are in.

Digital Visitor Book

Any visitors can sign in digitally, using the Digital Check In App.

What nursery & preschool leaders say about us…

Nursery In a Box: Software Pricing (17)

Hayden McCann

Early Learners Nurseries

On average, the software saves me around £4,000 per month in secretarial and administrative costs across the sites – and that’s before I’ve accounted for the reduction in paper and ink cartridges.

Nursery In a Box: Software Pricing (18)

Simon Capper

Manor Day Nurseries

We felt like we were just a small fish to the large corporate firm we were with, so we started to look around for an alternative and came upon Nursery in a Box. Our initial conversations with founders Dave and Milesh made us feel confident in moving to their system and we’ve not looked back.

Nursery In a Box: Software Pricing (19)

Jackie Davis

Busy Little Bees

Across three settings, we probably had a monthly ink and paper bill of around £150 to £200 per site. With Nursery in a Box, that cost was gone overnight as everything is contained within the new software.

Nursery In a Box: Software Pricing (20)

Elaine Burnett

Little Learners

I got in contact and spoke with the founder Dave Elebert, and after the initial conversation plus a trial I decided it was the way to go. We’ve not looked back. Nursery in a Box is user friendly, makes sense and most importantly I can speak to the team there.

Nursery In a Box: Software Pricing (21)

Rob Kilby

Tynemouth Nursery Group

Nursery in a Box ticks all the boxes for us. Everyone in the team uses it in some way and the parents do too. If I was to put a figure on it – I would say it saves us the equivalent of 2 or 3 admin salaries across the group. It lets our staff get on with what they love – caring for the children. Nursery in a Box most definitely pays for itself.

Nursery In a Box: Software Pricing (22)

Elaine Wright

Tynemouth Nursery at Billy Mill

Great company always happy to help with any question and always updating the program to make it better, our parents love the online diary’s and pictures we send daily.

Frequently asked questions

Are you tied into a contract or subscription?

No, there is no initial contract tie-in. We offer you a 30-day rolling contract. Several nurseries and preschools understand that their childcare management system is business-critical and wish to sign a fixed-term contract, so their data is protected with business continuity and have the option of a two or 3-year fixed-price contract.

Pricing – What are the options?

Flexible packages with tailored options to fit every nursery and preschool needs, with fantastic discounts available. Nursery In a Box offers three software packages:

  • Lite / 0-20 Children
  • Standard / Unlimited Children
  • Pro / Unlimited Children

The Lite and Standard packages have the same features, priced according to your nursery or preschool size. We wanted to offer as many features as possible, so it’s excellent value for money without paying for hidden extras.

The Pro package has all the standard features but with more HR functions. We wanted to offer nurseries a proper all-in-one package focussing on HR.

  • Timesheets
  • Payroll export
  • Holiday management
  • Shift planning
  • Absence reasons
  • Online Job application forms
  • Recruitment
  • Interview tracking

Do you offer a discount?

Yes, we offer a 10% discount for annual direct debit payments.

If you are a childminder with less than ten children, we can also offer a discounted rate of £39 per month with all the features required to manage your child-minding business.

Our philosophy is that you deserve the best management software to deliver an outstanding education to our children.

How is payment taken?

Subscription payments are collected monthly or annually by direct debit. Many local authorities wish to pay annually by bacs, which is also acceptable.

Can we upgrade to the Pro package?

Yes, you can upgrade to the pro package any time after your invoices have been sent via the lite or standard childcare management platforms.

Why should we upgrade to the Pro Package?

The Pro package has all the standard features but with more HR functions. We wanted to offer nurseries a proper all-in-one package focussing on HR.

  • Timesheets
  • Payroll export
  • Holiday management
  • Shift planning
  • Absence reasons

FAQs

When to set up a nursery? ›

Most people regard the second trimester as the best time to start setting up the nursery. At this stage in your pregnancy, you should hopefully be over the morning sickness and fatigue but will still be able to move around with relative ease and comfort.

Is nursery necessary? ›

Best place is with you, seeing your friends, going shopping, cuddling at home and when they're a bit bigger do some toddler groups with other toddlers. Nursery isn't at all bad but makes no sense before age 3 unless you need to. No of course not. At 6 months your baby is best off with you.

What is the best age to start nursery? ›

Generally, most nurseries accept children from around 2 to 3 years old. This is a crucial period when children explore their environment, develop social skills, and benefit from structured learning experiences.

Is it OK to put 2 year old in nursery? ›

Most children starting their nursery schools are aged 2-3. All children belonging to this age category are independent with a curious attitude, so they have a growing interest in other children. They also understand how to use a spoon and fork, which means they are ready to start nursery school.

What are the disadvantages of nursery? ›

Nursery disadvantages
  • may not take and collect older children from school.
  • can be difficult to negotiate flexible hours.
  • can be expensive, particularly for babies.

Is having a nursery worth it? ›

Everyone Has Their Own Space

Additionally, to help cope with those nerves, a baby monitor alerts you when the baby wakes in the day or night. Also, as your little one grows, having their own area teaches them how to be independent and take care of their own space.

Is it okay to not have a nursery? ›

No Problem! Plan for Baby with Limited Space. Setting up a full-fledged new nursery for your baby isn't always desired or possible, and it certainly isn't necessary (despite what retailers lead you to believe).

What month should you start preparing nursery? ›

While it's natural for soon-to-be parents to feel eager about setting up their baby's nursery, there's no hard and fast rule about when to start. However, a common recommendation is to begin preparations around the 20th week of pregnancy.

How far in advance should you look for a nursery? ›

Around a year before your child needs a nursery space, start your research. Look at the area you want, read reviews and look at inspection reports. Then book your show around, armed with questions.

When to set up the nursery while pregnant? ›

The second trimester is the best time to start setting up your baby's nursery. This is the time when pregnancy symptoms like morning sickness typically lessen, and the mommy-to-be will gain back some of her energy. New parents might also begin planning a baby shower.

When should you organize your nursery? ›

If you're designing your nursery from the ground up, we recommend starting as early as possible: Choose a general theme and color scheme halfway through your pregnancy, or about 20 weeks before your baby arrives. Order furniture soon after.
