BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Coach Mike Woodson and the Indiana Hoosiers will take the court for the first time in the 2023-24 season Sunday, with an exhibition game against the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds.

Indian experienced major roster turnover this offseason, losing Trayce Jackson-Davis, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Race Thompson, Miller Kopp, Jordan Geronimo, Tamar Bates and Logan Duncomb. Woodson replenished the roster with transfers Kel'el Ware, Anthony Walker and Payton Sparks, as well as freshmen Mackenzie Mgbako, Gabe Cupps and Jakai Newton.

Sunday represents the first chance to watch the new-look Hoosiers.

Meet the coaches

  • Paul Corsaro, Indianapolis: Corsaro is in his fourth season as the head coach of Indianapolis, and he has a 56-28 overall record with a 37-22 record in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Corsaro won his first GLVC regular season championship and made the NCAA Tournament for the first time as head coach last season. He played basketball and football at Indianapolis, then immediately became an assistant coach in 2012-13 after graduating. He remained on staff for six seasons, then served as an assistant coach at Purdue-Fort Wayne for two seasons before landing his first head coaching role at Indianapolis in 2020.
  • Mike Woodson, Indiana: Woodson enters his third season at Indiana with a 44-26 overall record and a 21-19 mark in regular season Big Ten play. Woodson has NBA head coaching experience with the Atlanta Hawks from 2004-10 and the New York Knicks from 2012-14. Dating back to 1996, Woodson has also been an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers. Woodson played at Indiana University from 1976-80, and was named the Big Ten's Most Valuable Player as a senior under coach Bob Knight.
